Birtle View Day Nursery is a brand-new, purpose-built setting created specifically around the needs of babies, toddlers and preschool children.
Set within its own private grounds on Bury and Rochdale Old Road, the nursery combines large, light-filled rooms with calm, thoughtfully designed learning spaces and secure outdoor areas. Every part of the environment has been created to give children the freedom to explore, play, discover and develop at their own pace.
With easy parking and a convenient location for families travelling between Heywood, Rochdale and Bury, Birtle View also offers practical advantages for busy and commuting parents, all while retaining the warm, family-focused atmosphere we believe children need to thrive.
Baby Room - 0–2 Years
Our Baby Room provides a calm, nurturing space where our youngest children can feel safe, secure and comfortable as they begin exploring the world around them.
The room is thoughtfully equipped with age-appropriate resources including sensory play, treasure baskets, soft play, messy play, books and music, giving babies plenty of opportunities to investigate through touch, movement, sound and play.
At this stage, strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Our team focuses on developing secure attachments while supporting early communication and language, physical development and children's growing curiosity.
Babies are encouraged to explore at their own pace, with experiences tailored around their individual routines, interests and stages of development.
Toddler Room - 2–3 Years
The Toddler Room is designed for busy, curious little learners who are becoming increasingly independent and eager to discover what they can do for themselves.
Children can explore role play, construction, creative activities, messy play, mark making, small world play and sensory experiences, alongside regular opportunities to learn outdoors.
At this age, children are developing their personalities, communication skills and relationships at an incredible pace. Our practitioners support them to make choices, develop independence, build friendships and begin tackling simple challenges and problems for themselves.
Learning remains playful and child-led, giving toddlers the confidence to explore their interests while developing important social, emotional, physical and communication skills.
Preschool Room - 3–5 Years
Our Preschool Room provides an inspiring environment where children can become increasingly confident and independent as they prepare for the transition to school.
Learning is planned in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage and is shaped around children's interests, encouraging curiosity, creativity, communication and problem-solving.
Children can explore early maths and literacy, creative activities, role play and a wide variety of child-led learning experiences. Rather than simply teaching children what they will encounter at school, we focus on helping them develop the skills that make them ready to embrace it.
That means encouraging children to think independently, communicate confidently, make decisions, solve problems, manage everyday tasks and approach new experiences with enthusiasm.
Outdoor Learning
Our secure outdoor space gives children another environment in which to explore, experiment and learn.
Set within Birtle View's private grounds, outdoor learning provides opportunities for physical play, nature exploration, gardening, water and sand play and activities that encourage gross motor development.
Children can investigate the natural world, get active, experiment with different materials and enjoy learning on a larger scale than is always possible indoors.
Outdoor experiences support all areas of the EYFS and are adapted to suit children's ages, interests and abilities, making the outdoor environment a genuine extension of our nursery rooms rather than simply somewhere to play.
As our outdoor facilities are completed, Birtle View will provide a carefully considered space designed to encourage movement, discovery, imagination and plenty of fresh-air adventures.
