Healthy Food for Growing Children

Busy little bodies need plenty of energy, which is why nutritious food is an important part of every day at Birtle View Day Nursery.

We provide a varied selection of meals and snacks designed to support healthy growth and development while helping children discover new tastes, textures and flavours. Mealtimes are also an important social part of the nursery day, giving children the chance to sit together, talk, develop independence and build positive relationships with food.

We want children to enjoy eating well from an early age, with balanced meals served in a relaxed, welcoming environment where trying something new is always encouraged.

  • Happy, Social Mealtimes

At Birtle View Nursery, we believe mealtimes should be a happy and sociable part of the day. These times offer valuable opportunities for positive interactions between children and staff, helping to build social skills and healthy eating habits in a relaxed, friendly setting.

  • Nutritious, Balanced Meals

We are committed to providing healthy, nutritious, and balanced meals and snacks that support every child’s growth and development. All meals are prepared with care to ensure they meet high nutritional standards and are enjoyable for children.

  • Respecting Individual Dietary Needs

Every child is unique, and so are their dietary needs. Before your child joins us, we gather detailed information about any allergies, dietary preferences, or special health requirements. Where necessary, we work with parents to create an individual dietary plan and carry out risk assessments to ensure the highest level of safety and care.

  • Food Hygiene Rating

We are proud to hold an environmental health food rating, reflecting our commitment to the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.

  • Promoting Good Oral Health

As part of our daily routine, we encourage children to clean their teeth during their nursery session. Each child has their own toothbrush, stored hygienically in a Brush Bus within their playroom.

Younger children are supported by staff, while older children – or those ready to do so – are encouraged to brush independently. We use fluoride toothpaste that meets the recommended levels for children.

  • Dental Hygiene Trained Staff

All of our staff have been trained in dental hygiene. This ensures that we consistently promote good oral health practices across the nursery in a fun and supportive way.
