Working Together from the Very Beginning
Starting nursery is a big step – for parents as well as children.
At Birtle View Day Nursery, we believe the best early years experiences are created when nursery and home work together. You know your child better than anyone, and the information you share with us helps our team understand their personality, routines, interests, likes, dislikes and individual needs from the very beginning.
Our aim is to build an open, supportive relationship with every family, giving you confidence in the care your child receives while helping us provide experiences that are genuinely meaningful to them.
Getting to Know Your Child
Before your child begins their nursery journey, we'll take time to find out as much as we can about them.
Knowing the little things can make a very big difference, particularly during those first few days and weeks. We want to understand your child's routines, favourite activities, comforters, family life, interests and anything else that will help them feel secure and understood.
As they settle in and we get to know them ourselves, this relationship continues to develop.
Our practitioners observe what interests and motivates each child, celebrate their achievements and identify opportunities to support their next stages of learning and development.
And because children don't stop learning when they leave nursery, we want to hear about the exciting things happening at home too.
Keeping You Part of Their Nursery Day
We know how strange it can feel to drop your child off at nursery and wonder what they're doing five minutes later.
That's why communication is such an important part of life at Birtle View.
Alongside conversations with our practitioners, we use ParentZone to help keep parents and carers connected with their child's nursery experience.
Through ParentZone, families can see information and updates from nursery, including aspects of their child's day and moments from their learning and development.
It also works both ways. Parents can share photographs, observations and special moments from home, helping our practitioners build an even fuller picture of each child's experiences and interests.
Whether they've mastered something new, enjoyed a family day out or suddenly developed a fascination with dinosaurs, diggers or ladybirds, we'd love to know about it.
Those little pieces of information can often become the inspiration for learning back at nursery.
Your Child's Key Person
Building secure, trusting relationships is particularly important during a child's early years.
Your child's key person will get to know them as an individual, helping them feel safe, supported and confident within the nursery environment.
They will also become an important point of contact for you as a parent or carer, sharing information about your child's experiences, development and changing needs.
This close relationship between child, practitioner and family helps provide consistency between home and nursery and ensures that your child's individual needs remain at the centre of their care.
Sharing Progress and Celebrating Achievements
Children develop enormously during their early years, and we want parents to be part of that journey.
Our team continually gets to know what children can do, what they're interested in and what they might be ready to explore next.
We'll share progress with families and celebrate the achievements that matter – whether that's a baby's first steps, a toddler finding the confidence to communicate what they want, or a preschool child proudly writing their name.
We'll also talk with you about ways we can support your child's development together.
The aim isn't to compare one child with another. It's to recognise the progress your child is making and give them the encouragement and opportunities they need to continue flourishing.
Supporting Important Transitions
Children experience several transitions during their nursery years, from those first settling-in sessions to moving between rooms and eventually preparing for school.
We aim to make each transition feel gradual, positive and reassuring.
Our practitioners work together and communicate with families so that children's routines, interests, development and individual needs are understood as they move into their next room.
When the time comes to prepare for school, our Preschool team helps children develop the confidence, independence and practical skills that will support them as they take their next big step.
We're Here to Listen
Parenthood doesn't come with a manual, and every family experiences different challenges along the way.
Whether there's been a change at home, you're concerned about an aspect of your child's development, you're working through a new routine or there's simply something you think we should know, we encourage you to talk to us.
Open communication helps us provide the right support for your child and means we can work together consistently.
Sometimes it's the smallest piece of information that helps us understand why a child may be feeling or behaving differently that day.
Our door is always open for those conversations.
Keeping Your Little Ones Safe
Nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of the children entrusted to our care.
Birtle View is a brand-new, purpose-built early years environment, designed specifically around the needs of babies, toddlers and preschool children, with secure outdoor space within our private grounds.

Sharing Moments from Home
Some of the most important developments happen outside nursery.
Perhaps your child has taken their first steps, learned a new word, ridden a balance bike for the first time, helped you bake a cake or spent the weekend hunting for bugs in the garden.
You can use ParentZone to share these moments with us.
They help our team understand what your child is experiencing beyond nursery and can provide wonderful opportunities for conversation and further learning when they return.
Most importantly, they allow us to celebrate those special achievements with you.
A Partnership Built Around Your Child
At Birtle View, parents and carers aren't simply kept informed – we want you to feel genuinely involved.
By sharing information, listening to one another and working together, we can provide children with the consistency, encouragement and security they need during these incredibly important years.
You know your child.
We get to know them too.
Together, we can help them thrive.
Where little futures begin.
